From the Office of the Housekeeping Administration

Edensphereians,

As so many are doing, this week Housekeeping will be making supply runs in the wonderful city known as Hollywood. As keeper of their lengthy purchase list, it is my job to see that nothing is missed. This includes...

&hearts linens
&hearts rope
&hearts new bedding for the temporary housing sections (there is this MARVELOUS thing called a "Bed in a Bag" that is like design for the masses! I love it!)
&hearts aprons
&hearts new cleaning supplies
&hearts house paint
&hearts lawn flamingos
&hearts tools
&hearts butterflies
&hearts gloves
&hearts masks
&hearts poker table
&hearts gardening tools such as shovels and the like
&hearts "crocs" <--I believe that is a type of formal shoe
&hearts coathangers
&hearts spanx
&hearts hoses
&hearts lava lamps
&hearts plumping equipment
&hearts hairspray
&hearts a cd player
&hearts and if possible a golf cart. Really, boys I don't see how you're going to get one of those.

What else...oh yes. The staff here has been very excited about some strange things they've discovered called ...Roombas. They say it will make their jobs a lot easier, so I have ok'd the purchase of several. Although I have had to squash several discussions about fighting with them--I don't believe in animal cruelty. Can someone please volunteer to be a Roomba handler? I wonder if that can be a new job posted in the Hall of Beginnings.

Anyways, I want this all purchased yesterday, so HOUSEKEEPERS! LETS GET A MOVE ON! We don't pay you to play with roombas all day.

If there are any volunteers in the sphere that would like to help us acquire these items, you would have my most undying gratifications.

Miss Bubbles, how are butterflies and flamingos going to help the housekeeping staff?

... and what exactly are "spanx" and "lava lamps"?

My dearest Fullmetal! How else are you going to hide unseemly patches in the gardens? Also butterflies give an added beauty to any home! I would suggest bubbles, but someone brought up the fact that they leave soap everywhere.

I believe lava lamps are magical objects with real lava trapped inside for illuminification. They are very neat and they keep the Housekeepers occupied for several hours. I need them in the break room. They can be very soothing.

And a woman never talks about her spanx, sweetie. &hearts

But won't the butterflies die eventually? And you'd have to feed the flamingos.

Real lava? It seems kind of dangerous though.

Oh! It's something like th-- Sorry for asking! I-- What do those have to do with housekeeping either!?

Yes but once you get them reproducing...oh dear. You do know about that right? If not, maybe Dr. Will should explain somethings..

That's what I thought! But people seem to use them as lamps so I suppose it must be safe. Right?

Well the girls have to look good in their housekeeping uniforms of course!!

Oh, no, I do know what reproduction is.

I'd kind of like to see one. The name can't be literal, real lava would be way too hot to be safe.

Ah, I see.

Yes butterflies! They will make any house a home!

I think KC would probably eat any butterflies that lived in our home.

...Ok honestly, I'm not really that surprised considering...

Fine. We will keep them away from your residence. Butterfly killer! This lawless place just creeps me out...

There's no use excusing the violence of your pets. Really, this is why I don't keep animals.

You are the one who managed to kill the spider that harmed the Captain of the Guard, are you not? Its merely an observation.

If the butterflies are too stupid to avoid a natural but cuddly predator, then they shouldn't be here.

Kiba killed the other one, and Range and Blood killed a lot of the babies. And they were all very different from butterflies.

and sadly she's being nice here
Sweetie, they're butterflies. They have the brain size of a pin. The cat has the advantage and he knows it! Besides, beauty before brains--nobody likes it when the bugs can...well you know.

Apart from the size, I see little difference. Bugs are bugs. For all we know the giant versions eat people too, so really I don't blame you for your adverseness!

Besides it would not do to decorate a spider killer's house with butterflies. You need something more modern and miltarish. Something that says "This is me! I kill things with big shiny sharp things for a living!"

Roomba... hmm. What exactly do they look like?
[info]bubble_ditz wrote:

They are about the size of a dinner plate but thicker, with armored shells. They stand low to the ground and seem to eat nothing but dust.

Of course! Actually the more someone knows about them the better. I cannot control what the staff think is useful, I only keep them organized.

hell if I know. ^_^
Now Justice. They made a strong case for it. Provided they can actually get one up from the wilderness...well. I leave it to the handsome young men you employ to figure something out.

Hah hah XD
I do not employ-

Very well. I will leave the decision to you. I must object however to "butterflies".

Re: Hah hah XD
Well I know Fugue isn't looking at the employment papers...

Of course you do. I'll have you know that butterflies (normal sized butterflies mind you) keep a garden healthy as well as beautiful and really, Housekeeping should have a responsibility to care for its own garden at least!

He's not sure what you're implying Bubbles but he doesn't like it XD
I can assure you that decisions on employment remain with the supervisors.

We do not have a garden. And quarantine concerns aside, letting loose normal-sized butterflies in a place where their predators are over-sized is both foolhardy and cruel.
[info]bubble_ditz wrote:

wait I thought Fugue was his supervisor?
of course. how silly of me.

Yet! We don't have one yet! They're also doing construction supply runs I'll have to know and soon the building will be complete and in need of decorations.

...I was only kidding when I said the butterflies would eat people. Do you think they will harm the little ones? Also, lots of people are bringing back pets and other small creatures.

[ooc:I like how of all things on this list, everyone is focused on butterflies again.]
[info]extantlaw wrote:

Utimately, but there are NPC supervisors in between XD
I see. And presumably there is a burning demand among the staff for lawn flamingoes?

Pets are afforded the protection of their owners. Wildlife is not.

pifth i thought he was a supervisor
You presume correctly! I think they're darling too.

The only ones I can see harming butterflies are people who smash them between journals. Besides, I'm not sure I see much sense in keeping pets when people have a tendency to...well you know. I'm surprised we haven't had the need for a humane society at this rate.

Nope. Just Does paperwork for Like.... THE ENTIRE SPHERE.
Strange that this clamouring for pink, plastic ornaments has not crossed my desk in the past then, is it not? Perhaps they would care for a selection of decoy herons in addition to flamingoes?

I believe that people are generally responsible in terms of taking care of each others pets in the event of... unforseen circumstances. And I fear that your butterflies woul be more at risk from oversized predators in the Sphere than residents.

Umm... I don't know what a Roomba is, but if it's an animal, I could probably handle it.
